Ars Technica argues that Google’s changes to how extensions work in Chrome will give YouTube a huge advantage in fighting ad blockers.
Manifest V3 will require changes to ad blockers to be submitted to the Chrome Web Store which can take hours or even days to be reviewed. This contrasts with simply updating block lists in the current system.
Google has plausible deniability that this is an unintended consequence versus a move to deliberately cripple ad blocking. 😉

@bgrinter @carnage4life @briankrebs Safari has its own issues (Apple's monopolistic behaviour wrt browser choice stagnated innovation).
Firefox is the better choice, at least on non-Apple devices.
