When was the last time a $44 billion acquisition lost **over two thirds of its value** in just over a year, and investors didn’t call for _multiple_ heads to roll? When. WHEN

They wanted to destroy it. Him and all of his authoritarian investors. This was deliberate. theguardian.com/technology/202

If you still, **STILL** think this was just a billionaire bumbling around not knowing what he was doing, with authoritarian investors backing him up to the tune of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT, and none of them have tried to fucking assassinate him, never mind just remove him from power, I have a bridge to sell you.

No, I have a gaggle of bridges to sell you.

No, I have an entire planet's gaggles worth of bridges to sell you.

And this applies doubly so to the tech journalists who keep interviewing his malicious ass and are like "gee wow you've lost a lot of value what do you think you'll do to try and recover this? Hehe awkward emoji"

NOTHING. Nothing you damn sycophant. Get your head out of his ass, then get it out of your own (no I don't understand how the physics work and I don't care), and wake the fuck up to what's happening.

@OddDev Elon Musk bought Twitter with the help of multiple investors ranging from authoritarian countries (Saudi Arabia, China) and hedge funds.

Twitter, despite its many faults, had become a powerful too for people to organize and fight back against many forms of oppression (Look up the 'Arab Spring' and many other protests)

Most billionaires like Musk, and authoritarian countries like Saudi Arabia and China, do not like when regular people gain power.

They bought Twitter to destroy it.

@chartier @OddDev He wanted to destroy what he perceived it to be (a public square controlled by liberals), but no, lighting $30B on fire is just pure incompetence, and your attempt to cast it as malice gives Musk way too much credit. He's not smart enough. He genuinely thought he, with no experience or research, could do better than a team of hundreds who have lived it for years.

@LouisIngenthron @chartier @OddDev musk doesn’t have to be the smart one in the equation. He just needs to be a useful tool and he’s been obliging his investors who ARE smart ever since the deal closed.

Elon has a lot of investors who wanted twitter essentially shut down. They didn’t invest to make it better and more efficient, that’s a given.

@Magooish @chartier @OddDev I feel like, were that true, they could find easier ways to do it than lighting a mountain of cash on fire.

@LouisIngenthron @chartier @OddDev

You may be underestimating the situation by reducing it to a money only deal. The maintenance of Power and control for those who have it is a far bigger currency exchange than actual cash.

@Magooish @chartier @OddDev If they wanted to maintain power and control, they wouldn't have destroyed the platform. They'd have tried to expand it so their subversive methods had more reach.
