I am in a position to comment/influence rule making on the use of #AI in the creation of legal briefs and motions in Massachusetts. Who should I be talking to in order to make sure that I approach this with informed skepticism?
I am concerned that the legal tech industry will be a disproportionately large voice in the discussion. I want to be able to push back.
@D_J_Nathanson I work with AI in a professional capacity almost every day, and have trained multiple models and built multiple systems off it.
I will never hire a lawyer who uses it to write legal documents, and the fact that courts are considering doing so is terrifying.
AI is designed to sound right, which is fine for natural language, but is completely unacceptable for binding legal documents that affect people's lives.
@D_J_Nathanson If you need help terrifying lawyerly-types into not doing it, feel free to reach out.
