@matunos @caseynewton Agreed, but that approach only requires a squad of humans, not a whole army.
@matunos @caseynewton Sure, but a strength is that the very platforms that need it most also happen to have a wealth of input training data that's up-to-the-minute on those adaptations.
@caseynewton Makes sense. LLMs are bad at a lot of stuff, but this is language pattern matching, which is exactly the problem it's designed to solve.
It's wild* how I've had clients rotting in jail as they await trial on their marijuana cases because the judges believed #marijuana to be a "danger to the public," yet #Trump remains free after being indicted in 4 separate felony cases that involve conduct where people died (January 6 insurrection) and an attempts to overthrow our country's government.
X "will work to identify alternative routes to meet these goals."
Which is a funny thing to promise immediately after unceremoniously snuffing out the tool they need without any warning.
@trinsec From what I can tell, past a certain age, curdled milk starts tasting good.
"Our advertisers are leaving us! What do we do?"
"Extort them."
@trinsec Uh... people don't eat activia for its taste, afaik.
It's a probiotic that old people use to help maintain their gut bacteria, lol.
@w7voa China is constantly trying to hack everything (even basic webservers like mine).
As a congressman, he should have access to properly secure systems.
So, the question is: What security procedure did he not follow to let them in?
If you told me a year ago that Chris Christie would be beating DeSantis in a GOP primary poll, I'd have laughed at you.
HUGE: "DeSantis has rendered 3.3 million Floridians without their elected choice of prosecutor. That means that more than 15% of the people of the state of Florida have had one of their elections nullified unilaterally by the governor."

@interfluidity @carlmalamud For old classics? Yeah, I buy that story.
But what about the B-roll? The movies that never really hit and became classics? The cheap films made to follow a cinematic trend? The shoestring budget horrors?
I feel like there should be a lot of older content out there that would be dirt cheap.
I would think that maybe they don't want to do it because of quality control, but then again, I've seen some of the garbage on their platform, so...
@interfluidity @carlmalamud I simply do not understand the economics of this. Shouldn't 50 year old movies cost them pennies to license compared to modern blockbusters? I feel like that would be an easy, cheap win for customers.
@KristianHarstad Right, you're talking about something far more personal. If this tech was enabled, there would unquestionably be some systems that would not just hash the brainscan for verification, but store it in its entirety on their servers.
@KristianHarstad Hell no, for one simple reason: Because I know how many systems still store passwords in plaintext.
