Ugh... of course Quickbooks decides to roll out an interface overhaul that moves everything without improving on anything... and of course it doesn't even work on launch.

Tried watching #Netflix's new show about the last #BlockBuster, especially because I like a number of the actors in it.

But they might as well just call it "Stereotypes: The Show".

Incredible how far we've fallen in so few years.

I never would have thought that, in my lifetime, "grab 'em by the pussy" and "Disney are just a bunch of groomers" would be winning political slogans.

It still blows my mind that every major news network doing election coverage now has an extremely prominent role for "guy who knows how to work the touchscreen". 🤦‍♂️ 😂

I don't know who needs to hear this, but:

The only thing the news will be covering prior to like 9PM is worry and stress.

If you're watching the news before 7PM, you're a masochist, plain and simple.

Local business has a sign up saying they're offering limited service "until people want to work again."

They have no job postings up online.

That seems like an especially seedy way of saying "we refuse to pay a living wage and we're bitter that people want one".

It's really too bad, because this was a beloved local family-owned joint.

Okay, I'm not usually one for #introduction posts, but here goes:

I grew up in the very conservative American Midwest and then moved to #Florida on my 18th birthday.

I love building #VideoGames more than I love playing them. I started my career with #EASports working on their first #MMA game (what later became the UFC series). I've since gone indie and released two #games by myself: #uFactory (https://store.steampowered.com/app/923710/uFactory/), a big game still in Early Access, and #CircuitCity (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1748260/Circuit_City/), a little game built around the idea of gameplay driving music. I also released a fun little demo for #VR a while back called #GrapplePlanet (https://lucidsilencegames.itch.io/grapple-planet)

I'm still building more games (and working on uFactory!) while paying the bills with drier #SoftwareEngineering work, hoping to eventually release a game that can grasp a chunk of the zeitgeist.

On here, I'll mostly be debating #technology, #freespeech (largely in the context of #America's #FirstAmendment), and general #AmericanPolitics. My political leaning can most closely be described as "left-libertarian". I.e. Everyone deserves #EqualRights, consistent with the #NonAggression policy. I registered as a #Democrat on January 7th, 2021.

Hey @freemo, are there any plans to replace the "toot" lingo on this instance with "publish" like they did with the official mobile apps?

I get that there's no algorithm in #Mastodon's main feed, but it would be nice if favorites caused replies to bubble up to the top.

That would make it much easier to track interesting conversations like you could on Twitter.
