It's really incredible how quickly I've gone from loving HBO Max to hating Max.
This is a neat little shader effect.
One interesting thing it made me think about, though: Even though I know exactly how it's made and could, in theory, replicate it... in practice, I never could, because I would become obsessed with making it work for all shapes, not just spheres, and the over-scoping would prevent me from ever finishing it!
Recreated this waterfall shader I made back in 2019, and wrote a breakdown post~ 💧 https://www.cyanilux.com/tutorials/waterfall-shader-breakdown/

I’m grateful that we have a president who honors and pays tribute to our fallen heroes, and doesn’t consider them “losers” and “suckers.”
Finally discovered why my C: drive is full... apparently I've got about a hundred different old .NET SDKs installed.
They took 15 minutes to cook more, which okay, but then it came out burnt 🤦♂️
I'm at a Pollo Tropical and there are only like two other customers and yet the restaurant is totally out of cooked pollo. Crazy.

My students are often shocked/dismayed when I point out that after the original gorilla mislabeling fiasco, they simply removed the ability to label anything as "gorilla" rather than address the core problem (and if the problem isn't fixable...maybe we shouldn't pursue face labels at all?). The journey continues to this day.... https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/22/technology/ai-photo-labels-google-apple.html
Once again, the GOP proves that it totally loves socialism... but only for the rich.
If you ever wonder how much confidence aerospace companies like SpaceX have in their own technical competence, the answer is: absolutely none, henc...
Usually, I can see a game feature once or twice and figure out exactly how it works.
But I'm not sure I'll ever understand how #Factorio got its save/load system to run so fast. The amount of data that has to be encoded... it's insane!
Why did Magic Leap choose to partner with only the shittiest possible retail websites for US distribution instead of just using NewEgg or something?
Received my H-Bridges and rotary encoders in the mail today, so I think I have everything I need to start hooking up the actual electronics this weekend!

Implicit corollary: "work makes you free".
Tell me that's not saying the quiet part loud.
Got the frame mostly built out now. Once I get the component unit tests complete, I'll start 3D printing the dashboard cover pieces.
Of course now, only a day into the transition from HBO Max to Max, I start experiencing service issues.
Damn corporate overlords.

Navigating legal issues that impact transgender clients requires starting with understanding the terms and definitions that are used in this area.
These definitions are also useful for having more productive discussions with other people about sex and gender issues in our society without misunderstanding.
"Merit must trump identity politics" says man who uses his power to punish his opponents based on their sexual/gender identity.
#DeSantis being unable to announce his presidential bid because he allied with a shit-talking failure is really a great metaphor for the entire #Republican party.

The tragic demise of Dexter Barry, a heart transplant recipient, after two days in jail without his life-sustaining medication, should elicit profound outrage. Barry was arrested on a simple assault charge, accused of threatening his neighbor.
Barry repeatedly emphasized his medical needs to officers and judges, pleas that fell on deaf ears. Eventually, his body rejected his transplanted heart, resulting in his untimely death. To dismiss such a critical need on grounds of an allegedly trivial disagreement amounts to an unsettling dereliction of duty, one that echoes the unsavory autocracies of the 20th century.
