So when are the Florida schools going to ban the Bible in school libraries? That is certainly not fit reading for children, by the DeSantis administration's standards!
I'm actually making a serious point here - if the classroom book bans ever go to trial, a real case could be made that it is predjucice to allow the exact same content that would get other books banned just because they are considered a specific religion's "holy" books. But what happens if the other books that are being banned are declared as "holy" by some other religion or denomination? Say the Metropolitan Church decides to canonize all those books that DeSantis wants to ban - now he is not only interfering with freedom of speech, but also freedom of religion. You can't say the Bible gets a pass because it is a "holy" book (assuming any court would even go there) unless you are ready to start splitting hairs about exactly what constitutes a "holy" book.
And all this might not be a big deal in the public schools - some of them may not have any Bibles in the building anyway - but it sure as heck would be a big deal for those #christofascist charter schools that DeSantis and his ilk love so much, as well as all the traditional "Christian" schools. If some court rules that all THOSE schools had to remove the Bible from their classrooms and libraries, suddenly the right might decide that book-banning is a really bad idea (or they might be okay with banning the Bible, which might still be a win for the kids who are being indoctrinated).
