@aeternus@fosstodon.org That cartoon is not at all realistic. There is never a cost for updates nor for updates to applications that come with MacOS, and even most third-party applications let you update for free unless maybe it is to a new major version.

As for , that very much depends on the distro. users are likely to have the same reaction as users, because Ubuntu pushes updates too damn often. Actually I would caption it like this:

(Ubuntu) Linux: ANOTHER one?
Windows: How long is THIS one going to take?
Mac: (Eyes Windows user enviously as the progress bar resets to the beginning once again!)
