GOP racism against darker-skinned Hispanic people obscures to most Americans how much the GOP platform is designed to make the USA run more like Mexico - poorer, less equal, more corrupt.

RT @gabrielarana
The infrastructure in Texas and operation of the government often remind me of Mexico—basic government services inoperable, rampant corruption in administration and lots of cutting corners that leads to disaster later. 1/3

The US government has a long and sordid history of using "terrorism enhancements" to target #environmental justice protesters, #antifascist activists, #Blackliberation organizers, etc

Every #civilliberties org should condemn this. We @team do, unequivocally.

When a news organization labels something "analysis" you should read that as "commentary" -- because there is no real difference.

"Opening up your platform using a free public API, inviting developers to build your platform for free, and then begin shutting down and charging for the API once you have the growth that you need is a pretty proven playbook."

Have to say I'm encouraged how even after Republicans cheering on a year of Putin's systematic raping and pillaging, most Americans still recognize evil.

Latest BS from Musk and minions is the notion that they didn't really mean to cut off the no-charge API and would allow "good" uses. Why does anyone believe a word from someone who is a Trump-level liar?

Developers, he's told you who he is.The ONLY thing you can trust about Musk is that he's not to be trusted, ever. Remove Twitter from your software, now.

Remember, folks: Selling land you own to a buyer associated with a country we're not at war with, in a way that violates no current treaties, sanctions, or laws, is treason.

But rotely repeating talking points from the dictator of a nation currently under heavy sanctions and which is waging war against a US ally is patriotism.

Got it?

Does Twitter’s free tier for the Twitter API affect our dropping Twitter support from NetNewsWire?

theverge.com/2023/2/5/23586577

It does not. The big reason is that that free tier is write-only — and NetNewsWire is a reading app.

But even if they did make another change and allow for some free use for readers, we could never rely on it. Twitter has proven that it’s an unacceptable partner.

I often wonder if people like @mtgreene, @mattgaetz and the rest of this freedumb caucus clown show:

1) know who John Adams was.
2) know what moral authority is.
3) have the faintest idea what he's talking about here—and why?

ChatGPT is only the most recent example of the tech industry's willful choice not to care very much, or soon enough, about the foreseeable negative consequences of what it produces. Big Journalism grossly downplayed the accomplishments of the Biden administration and Democratic-controlled Congress in 2021-22.

Now, Big Journalism is puzzled that the public isn't aware of those accomplishments.

(Not a hint of this in the Post story, of course...)
