I hate that Elon Musk overshadows everything that happens in Big Social because, while we’re all outraged about Twitter, Meta is doing incredibly shady things.

Such as letting Donald Trump back on Facebook and Instagram.

George #Santos was charged with theft in #Pennsylvania in 2017 after a series of bad checks were written in his name to dog breeders, according to the court and a lawyer friend who helped him address the charge.

Just days after $15K in checks were made out for “puppies,” Santos held an adoption event at a pet store, per the store’s Instagram and an attendee.

The charge was dismissed after Santos claimed someone stole his checkbook, per the court and lawyer.

Don’t treat follower counts and impressions as something that’s sidetracking Elon. From the outset, this debacle has been about his Twitter addiction and the oceans of dopamine he requires.

The irony is Elon bought Twitter and made his own Twitter addiction worse … but he cured us of ours.

Signing off this 2/9 Thursday. Ciao.

Monstrous cruelty inflicted on our own people for no reason other than to appease a bunch of superstitious right wing nuts who have seized the levers of our government. https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/08/health/ohio-abortion-long/index.html

Folks in Blue States who think abortion rights is only an issue for the rest of us are going to realize real quick that abortion rights is a 50-state issue as long as Republicans control the courts.

Kudos to the New York Public Library (#NYPL) for mining this vein of gold beneath our feet.

"NYPL has been reviewing the US #Copyright Office’s official…records for [books] whose copyrights haven’t been renewed…The books in question were published between 1923 & 1964, before changes to US copyright law removed the requirement for rights holders to renew their copyrights…Around 65 -75% of rights holders opted not to renew their copyrights."

Pfizer made a record $100 billion in 2022, almost $57 billion of which was from its #COVID-19 vaccine and Paxlovid.

Yet they still want to charge people $130 per dose, and refuse to share vaccines and treatments with the world.
