@idoubtit We had one major snowstorm that lasted a couple of days around Christmas, one smaller one that gave us about 4 inches, and now all !he snow has melted again. In Mid-February! Normally the snow doesn't start to disappear here until early to mid April.

@aeternus@fosstodon.org That cartoon is not at all realistic. There is never a cost for #MacOS updates nor for updates to applications that come with MacOS, and even most third-party applications let you update for free unless maybe it is to a new major version.
As for #Linux, that very much depends on the distro. #Ubuntu users are likely to have the same reaction as #Windows users, because Ubuntu pushes updates too damn often. Actually I would caption it like this:
(Ubuntu) Linux: ANOTHER one?
Windows: How long is THIS one going to take?
Mac: (Eyes Windows user enviously as the progress bar resets to the beginning once again!)

@Techmeme one thing to notice from these AIs, is their lack of creativity. Their output is dependent on the input of the user.
If I ask you, how would the plot of Lord of the Rings have changed if Gandalf actually died? Or if Hawk Eye actually died ratger than Black Widow in MCU? You can give me an answer, you can give me your own creative story, idea and opinion. Unique to you.
None of these services can write you a story. Curiosity and creativity are two important aspects of intelligence and sentience. These AIs don't come close to that, and what would happen if they actually did?
Finally, except for a true #opensource #AI, could we ever trust such an AI's ideas at all to not have any influence from corporations and politics? Also in such an opensource AI. Where do we draw the lines with ethics?
