America’s legal system today

I want to practice law:
—You need a 4 year Bachelors, take the LSAT, then a 3 year JD, then pass the BAR, buy malpractice insurance, & total cost is ~$300K

I want to enforce the law:
—Here’s paid 13-week training & a gun

I want to write the law:
—No qualifications needed and a billionaire can buy you a seat

@augieray
Cancelling something because of a storm doesn't usually cost money (in fact it may save you money).

Wearing a seatbelt costs you noting since it it built into all cars.

Not driving drunk saves you money because you didn't have to buy the booze.

But unless you know how to sew and have the materials on hand, wearing masks costs you money. But also they are much more obtrusive than the other things you mentioned, well except for possibly not driving drunk (and you do realize that some people do that anyway, right?).

And people just hate wearing them. Nobody will ever consider wearing a mask just a normal thing.

I get the point you are trying to make but just saying maybe you should come up with better arguments, because if I were on the fence about wearting a mask and I saw your list I'd be more likely not to wear one.

I think some people reach the point where they just get sick of dealing with Covid and, especially if they are fully vaccinated (or have bought into the MAGA lies), think "fuck it, I'll take my chances." Which is not a great attitude to have, granted, but then why did I get four Covid vaccinations if that doesn't protect me? I can see how even people who were initially pro-mask are just getting sick and tired of it, and it's really not the minor inconvenience you make it out to be, given that seeing each other's faces is one of the ways we communicate with each other.

@johnlogic So, uh, use then. People run because they like it. I could not possibly hate keyboard shorftcuts more because in order for then to be useful you have to memorize them, and I've never been good at memorizing stuff.

Now if what you mean is you want an app that pops up a list of the keyboard shortcuts you use, then you could probably create that yourself using or , or maybe someone else has done that. You could even create a note in the Notes app (or a third-party app such as Joplin if you don't like Apple's Notes app).

I guess it just bugs me when people try to push their preference for using the keyboard on us point-and-click people. I get that maybe that's not your intent, but as I say a lot of people actually like the MacOS interface just the way it is, so if you don't, please consider that maybe MacOS is not for you. There are MANY things I don't like about MacOS but their interface isn't one of them.

@ronaldsvilcins And the sad part is that if you ask your question in you might get a usable answer, and you might get bullshit, but even the bullshit will possibly get you closer to the answer you want than these "helpful" people.
