I have deleted all of my #codeberg repo's.

It's actual E.V. Members are wanting to ban some #FreeSoftware from it's server, and I am not getting into a corrupt organization, just to change it. I am not going to get myself into such disappointing work.

Better to keep on being positive, and let codeberg's haters hate.

I talked to a friend who’s a middle school ELA teacher in FL. She has no more classroom library. For the last 20 minutes of each class, instead of doing DEAR (Drop Everything and Read), the students take out their mobile phones.

Out doing errands today when I noticed a large crowd gathered for an anti-abortion rally outside the State Capitol building in Salem, OR. I decided to walk by and get a sense of who was in the crowd and spotted these Oregon Nazis standing in the back handing out fliers for a Holocaust denial film. You'd think "Nazis against genocide" would be a tough PR to pull off. But intellectual consistency and fascism rarely go together.

Also worth noting is the Appeal to Heaven flag, an emblem that goes back to the American Revolutionary era and which has recently been appropriated by Christian Nationalists. Several folks on January 6 were waving that flag. I suspect this is how the Nazis are trying to attract recruits from this crowd of self-understood "Christian Patriots."

Unions must do better than just supporting their members regardless of what they do. How about protecting the reputation and integrity of all their members from bad actors by proactively disciplining and removing them. Police unions, like all unions, have an obligation to all their stakeholders, the citizens, their customers and the institutions they are part of. This knee jerk defense of the indefensible doesn't benefit anyone. Unions should be the ones removing the bad actors in their midst because they make all the union members look bad and jeopardize the role they unionize around. Don't circle the wagons around the bad actors, expel them!

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode the deficit.

3) Demand cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

4) Repeat.

Don't let them get away with it.
