@MQMLab Maybe this? It's a photodiode detector made for cheap that recorded waves in a Neon discharge tube at as high a time resolution as I could record. Housing was PVC. Couple Edmund lenses and a cheap photodiode.
@pmmiller8 That could fit nicely, given that in Modern Physics my students play a bit, building a discriminator, which they feed into a Teensy 3.2, to look at interval statistics on single-photon detection. What time resolution did you achieve?
@MQMLab The digitizer happily collected 100 kS/s for one second intervals. Looking back, the two lenses were 50 mm focal length, 25 mm diameter, and there was a 640.1 nm, 4 nm bandwidth filter between them to isolate a neon line, which I'm sure helped a lot.
