@gnomon @nicky @ottaross Ah, okay, that makes sense. So a constantly updated list of people like @ottaross is producing would best be handled by "edit."
Am I right in guessing that the edit function is not universally available? I know I used it at least once when I was still on mastodon.social, but I don't see it anymore, just delete and re-draft (on both the web interface and the iOS app Metatext).
@MichaelPorter @gnomon sounds like the imminent release v4.0 of the masto software will bring edit to more places, but I use it on the web interface regularly already. Sure is great.
@MichaelPorter @nicky @ottaross I believe that the edit feature is still being adopted, yes. It's been in the protocol for a good long while and implemented in the back end for slightly less time, but the UI layer is relatively new and not fully adopted in every standalone client and not every masto instance aims to track extremely closely to the release cadence of the Mastodon server software project.
