I, a Black woman, have had a marvelous experience on Mastodon because these mods don't play. For being a place-specific instance, SFBA has a very clearly expressed value system and it's reflected in the mods. They are proactive, even-handed, and respectful.

I wish others on #BlackMastodon and through the #BlackFediverse could say the same of their instance mods.

In America it’s okay for children to see people, often their own classmates, being eviscerated, but gods forbid that they should see some art.

Bluebells at Foxley Wood in Norfolk today. Stunningly beautiful and such a strong, heady scent. Nature at its most calming, with glorious birdsong accompanying the visual splendour! (I also didn’t realise that 50% of the world’s bluebells are here in the UK! We’d better look after them!)

The long sections of lightning are cylindrical; the larger structure is analogous to neon signs made of blown glass.
