What the fuck happened?

I’d like to see more coverage of the bigger picture here. Nothing is unrelated.

I wish I could think about climate action instead of whether some MAGA politician who represents an incredibly small electorate is going to make all my decisions. Or if I’ll get shot at the grocery store. Or if my daughter will die needlessly due to a treatable condition during pregnancy.

Elections have consequences.

So, maybe this should be a poll but following Gov. Abbott and Ted Cruz's line of thinking would you feel better knowing you lost your family at a mall shooting because of the Mental Health Crisis they didn't address or the Gun Crisis they didn't address or the rise of White Supremacy they promoted?

Just ran outside to make sure all the new babies figured out to go inside the barn when it's raining (they did). And found the VERY BRAVE livestock guardian dog trembling at the barn door, trying to protect them from the very quiet distant thunder which he is deathly afraid of. He's such a good boy! (I put him in the bigger barn until the thunder passes so he can hide and hopefully be a little happier)

There's a really important special election in House District 163 on May 16th in Pennsylvania that will determine which party controls the state legislature.

This election could be decided by just a few votes. Fundamental freedoms, including access to abortion care, are on the line.

Putting in place "age restrictions" on gun purchases - is window dressing --- "Oh, but we DID something".

Go back to shootings in last 5 or 10 years...

I can think of several, where the shooter took the guns from parents OR where the parents provided the gun for them.

There MUST be a full package of remedies - with the understanding that even those won't stop the killings... BECAUSE it is still the guns!

When they lynched George Floyd, the debate was not to judge all cops.

When they lynched Jordan Neely, the debate was why SHOULDN'T they lynch unhoused Black folks in distress.

See how they move the needle? We argue over scraps, over the right NOT to be lynched. I refuse. It doesn't work that way.
