What a surprise, it's Monday and there's still zero legacy news coverage about the fascist rally in Santa Monica. Police defended Proud Boys and their allies while attacking abortion rights protesters with horses.

But the only articles about this incident are from InfoWars and RedState...

A great (and heartbreaking) article about the Cosmologist Catherine Heymans, the Astronomer Royal of Scotland. It was supposed to be about the amazing science she does - it still is, but it is also about long covid and the incredible resilience in the face of a life coming apart:

Rachel Maddow called #PatriotFront the "white supremacist glee club".

Accurate.

People who want to perform in public & People who want to sing the praises of fascism.

@DemocracyMattersALot ColludyRudy is a POS.

Chris Licht is a moron. The CNN CEO believed he could court the MAGA crowd without losing the left. Instead, the network now finds itself hemorrhaging viewers and in the ratings basement behind Newsmax. Fire him.

Armani was so very brave today and he even let the vet borrow some of his blood so we can check his levels and make sure we are managing his diabetes appropriately. 💜

It has been an eventful day with planets finally aligning on one of my major goals. Apparently, tonight's #Arizona #sunset is celebrating with me. 😎

Mayoral candidate and former cop Mark Saunders declined to participate in this evening's election debate in #Toronto.
The former police chief is Premier Doug Ford's pick for mayor and is not surprisingly taking a page out of the Ford campaign playbook.

"Talk to no-one, commit to nothing and rely on big donors to pave your way. This strategy is destroying Ontario and will destroy Toronto if he’s elected."

Here's the video that our camera captured of the baby wood ducks jumping out of their nesting box. When the video starts a few have already jumped because the camera wasn't triggered.

Mama duck is off on the left side of the screen, but she quickly comes round to the front + gathers the babies at the edge of the pond. You can see the ducklings jump like paratroopers out of the hole at the top of the box.

Twitter launched encrypted DMs with the project lead falsely saying the program had been audited by an outside firm. In fact, @zoeschiffer.bsky.social and I report today, no contract had been signed https://www.platformer.news/p/why-you-cant-trust-twitters-encrypted

Some photos from our bike ride last week on the 1A Highway outside of Banff, Alberta. The highway is closed to vehicles for may and the first part of June to protect the young wildlife in the area, so it is great for biking. There was still snow in the shade on the side of the road, and a stream we crossed still had 30 cm of ice on it. At 17C and mostly sunny it was a beautiful day for cycling.

Now is probably a good time for Rudy Giuliani to stay away from high windows.
