Once the Democratic Party concedes "givebacks" to the GOP, surrendering benefits previously agreed to, we will face neverending GOP demands to give up more and more, until all progress and human rights we've earned are reversed. I say, we should never negotiate under the gun, regardless of the threatened consequences. Either we stand for something or we stand for nothing. #debtceilingshowdown

I think that we should use what little influence we have on social media to make it clear to the Americans that care about our #ClimateCrisis that the GOP's efforts to cause a global economic crisis are mostly caused by their desire to disrupt #ClimateAction since our media is mostly ignoring it.

Glad to see @Chrishayes gave it some time, but Friday night news segments and a few nonviral headlines don't really do all that much.

I just learned that in Spanish-speaking countries in South America, their version of “righty tighty, lefty loosy” is “la derecha oprime y la izquierda libera”, which literally translates to “the right oppresses and the left liberates”.

That, my friends, is the most dead-on mnemonic that has ever been thought up.

When a #gay boy was savagely beaten in Ireland this week, his family released video of the attack to pressure authorities to act, and to spark discourse about the consequences of rising anti-#LGBTQ rhetoric.

Then the video was suppressed out of "respect." Why? Would true respect not mean honoring the family and having the courage to look squarely at the pain of a child at the epicenter of the an anti-#queer backlash?

Here’s another one of my favorites- Movement Labs. They work with progressive candidates around the country and also help Democrats run in places where they traditionally haven’t.

Their next project is going to be in North Carolina- a state that needs some help. Get involved or save this for when you can. Their work is effective for progressive change.
