So the US congress vs TikTok, they are expressing concerns about data finding its way back to the Chinese government, while at the same time when Facebook hands over information about a young lady who had an abortion to the local authorities this is perfectly acceptable to the users of these platforms.

Always amazed by the temperature controlling power of one foot hanging outside the blanket.

Trust the Scotus to Police itself?. You see the corruption in Government allowed to police itself!. Railroad corporations allowed to police itself, Police departments allowed to police itself? The food industry pretty much policing themselves and how much recalls on their products due to poor inspections?.
LMAO! TRUST US NOT TO ENSLAVE AND OR SCREW YOU AMERICA!

Highly recommend Poverty by America, how the system engineered massive inequality and are vastly subsidized, Not the middle class and poor https://amp-theguardian-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/amp.theguardian.com/books/2023/mar/22/poverty-by-america-by-matthew-desmond-review-how-the-rich-keep-the-poor-down

Trump is again taking up all the oxygen with the talking heads, but the debt ceiling still looms and threatens to entirely crash the economy. As usual HCR lays the issues out so well. #economy #debtceiling

if you're an instance admin and it's a multi-user instance and you're blocking instances all over the place, you might be cutting off long-time friends from each other.

admin-level blocking is a powerful tool and should be wielded with extreme care, if you choose to use it at all.

i'm not even sure i'm in favour of having the feature, personally. maybe for bot spam and things that would be illegal to host, but the software can't limit blocks to only be about that, so it's a dilemma.

but in a perfect world, blocks would be a fairly limited tool.

This Charlie catching up. Probably during a walk last fall.

Good morning. ☕☕☕

We went to a nearby army base and got eye exams a few days ago. My wife and I are both retired soldiers, so we are able to go there on a space available basis. We can also get our eyes checked through the Veterans Administration - though we haven't done that yet.

Because we are retired soldiers, we were also able to each get two pair of glasses. I got one regular pair and one pair of sunglasses. They're nothing fancy of course, and the bifocal is clearly visible. I usually get the seamless bifocals when I purchase glasses. But I have to admit that I like the new glasses better than the Ray-bans that I normally get. And I don't even care about the bifocal line anymore; it is only a vanity thing anyway.

"Vanity can easily overtake wisdom. It usually overtakes common sense." - -Julian Casablancas.

@JDS One would think so. At least in a normal world it would be.

They will send a young mother to jail for stealing food to feed her kids, but #gop members of #congress intervene in a case involving an illegal payoff.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is threatening a District Attorney in any way, shape, or form against the law?

In a world where we’re constantly at odds with one another, let’s remember we’re all in this together.

There is no “us” and “them”, there is no “other”, we’re all human, we all want to belong.

It has been a very *long* day and now my 75 pound dog is laying across my legs and I can’t feel my feet anymore.

Late musician #DavidCrosby was my closest older friend, and we had many years of wild and joyous adventures together. Here's my RelixMag story on who he really was, and how collaborating w/young musicians like James Raymond and Becca Stevens rejuvenated his career. #music https://relix.com/articles/detail/the-next-quiet-place-my-unlikely-friendship-with-david-crosby/
