Among the reasons I don’t vote Republican. Well, these and I’ve also reminded some Republican-supporting fellow veterans I’ve known over time who use benefits through the Veterans Administration who tend to go on about how they don’t want socialism in this country but by God, they’ll take advantage of every benefit the VA has to offer and they qualify for.

Mastodon can be so weird. My feeds are filled with lots of posts complaining about how and why people are doing mastodon wrong, how they should post, why they should change their server, shaming people for forgetting to add text to an image, calling people who haven’t deleted their twitter accounts Nazis, now followed by posts ripping on people trying Threads….all followed by posts wondering why people don’t seem to enjoy Mastodon as much as they think they should. I just can’t imagine why 🙄

Why don’t you take a break from the doomscrolling and get some fresh air? There’ll be plenty of doom when you get back.

Look, you're not going to be able to appeal to someone's sense of right or wrong to convince them not to use a social media app.

Most people are looking for entertainment from social media. A whole lot of people just want to talk shit to famous people.

I want to have real conversations with real people. I don't want engagement. I want to communicate and learn.

I think #ActivityPub has a lot of potential as a communication protocol.

Most people don't care about that at all.
