Firefox: Click a link to WaPo or The Atlantic or... and trip on the firewall. Go to about:config tab and disable JavaScript (javascript.enabled ==> false). Return to blocked tab and refresh; read article gloriously undisturbed. Then re-enable JavaScript and return to the main Mastodon tab to find it b0rked: won't auto-scroll when you hit bottom, some images are missing, "Oops! An unexpected error occurred," etc. Refreshing does not help. Quit Firefox and it hangs on shutdown, needs force-quit. Restart Firefox, reload Mastodon page, and all is well.
