Is there a way to get that 
sweet Motorola chop-chop flashlight gesture 
on Lineage OS or another custom ROM without installing some random sketchy app? 
It's the only feature I'd miss if I finally switched to a custom ROM from the stock one on my phone, which got its last security patch almost exactly one year ago! 
@Linux_in_a_Bit it's usually there in gestures I guess. You have to flash the ROM and then check

I've had three Motorola phones with LineageOS, and all three times I had chop-chop without sketchy apps.

BTW, Motorola seems to have a patent on this feature until *2035*: https://patents.google.com/patent/US9715283B2/en
