You are thinking of Apple brand ear drops. They cost $1000 but its a bargain considering how user friendly they are.

How about a genetically engineered virus that goes into the infected person's brain and attaches to the cochlear nerve and constantly plays commercials. The company that engineers the virus sells ad space to the highest bidder.
