localhost != 127.0.0.1

Is this some kind of tricky #TruthBeTold ?
localhost always resolves to 127.0.0.1, and 127.0.0.0/8 is reserved, by standard, for loopback.
There's a way to change it, but I've never seen it other than that (in IPv4).
