@MickG59 Well... 'duh'. If you disagree with 'the government' we have at present, you are a leftie woke supporter of international terrorism. Democracy in action, apparently.

And to me, 'leftie' and 'woke' are compliments, not insults.

Hopefully I'll be old(er) and dead before it properly kicks off into fascism, but not optimistic.

@MickG59 I'm becoming more 'radical' as I get older. The #Tories have always assumed that 'older people' would become more attuned to their bullshit as they get older. They're doing well on disenfranchising the younger voters, but I think us grey-hairs will send them a big shock come the next GE, which cannot come soon enough for me.

Get your teenage offspring sorted with ID, and seriously encourage them to vote next time out and bloody think about which box they tick. It's important.

On the very few occasions that I voted when I was in my 20s, I voted tory (to my shame). Why? Because it was the era of Harold Wislon, Grocer (paedo) Heath and that fucking rabble. The era when branch meetings of the Labour party (then overwhelmingly dominated by the Militant Tendency) would often finish a branch meeting by passing a resolution to "invite the glorious Red Army to invade Britain and free the workers from the shackles of the capitalist pigs and their running dogs". I know that, as I used to be regularly invited to Labour Party meetings as I worked in the building that actually housed the local Labour party HQ. This was back in the days of Red Robbo and all the other shop stewards who would willingly wreck the economy and cause major industries to go bust to make a political point.

If I had a vote today, which I don't because the Labour party attempted to 'gerrymander' an election by denying the vote to those who had lived outside the UK for more than 15 years (just about the only country in the world so to do), it would go to the party most likely to unseat the tories who have morphed into a full-on replica of the fucking Nazi party! Lineker is absolutely right!
