So how do y'all keep it together knowing the majority of folks have bought into the delusion that Covid just somehow magically ended and everything should go back to normal?

Most people enjoyed smoking cigarettes. Leaded gasoline improved engine performance. DDT was great for pest control. Asbestos was incredibly good fire insulation. Looking back, we now we understand the harms these things did, but we can see why people chose to use them.

Ten or 20 years from now, our present decision to just let #COVID spread is not going to make the same kind of sense. Why did everybody want to keep getting this disease? What was good about it?

I would take issue with the statement

"Most people enjoyed smoking cigarettes."

I met very few people indeed who 'enjoyed' smoking - they smoked in order not to suffer the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

People I have met who have been addicted to other intoxicants, like heroin, speed, cocaine or crack all say without exception, that giving up smoking cigarettes is much more difficult than giving up one or more of the illegal drugs mentioned above.
