It's pretty obvious very few of you have been seriously trolled. You know ... death threats, doxxing, as many of your apps hacked as possible. All your former employers contacted, etc.
And you most certainly haven't experienced talking to the people entrusted with user safety telling you that the folk threatening your friends are "just kids - we can't ban them or report to US authorities, you'll have to do this yourself".
I'm so sorry you have had to experience this and that the responsible people on social media were so utterly irresponsible!
Some silly cü*t tried to dox me over something I said on Twitter. He "ordered" me to delete it then when I told him to f-off (the way you would), he contacted my "employer" to report me to them.
He overlooked the fact that by then, I had already been retired for several years. My sometime employer told me that they had been contacted by some self-righteous, waffling twat and that they told him in no uncertain terms, to f-off and mind his own business!
@Paulos_the_fog My personal circumstances were similar - no harm job-wise from the doxxing - but I know the details of far too many more that were horribly "effective" to dismiss it.
