I love how people have been complaining about not being able to understand the dialogue in TV shows for years now, and it's gotten to where a huge number of people just leave captions on all the time, and the people that create them are still just "Oh well, nothing we can do".
It's really bizarre.

Yes the trend towards 'edgy' dialogue; i.e. dialogue you can't fuckin well hear, has been progressing for some years now. I can't make up my mind whether the directors of the shows really think that completely inaudible dialogue is 'really bang on trend' or whether modern sound specialists/engineers are just a bunch of completely incompetent slobs who need sacking!
