Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.

Right wing arseholes are getting their collective knickers in a twist about the number of refugees coming across the channel in small boats. However, the reality is that Britain takes an absolutely minuscule number of refugees compared to other more welcoming nations! Germany, for example, has opened its arms to 2,234,932

The people voted for cheaper food, cheaper fuel, FOM in EU, lower taxes , more money for the NHS etc etc NONE of which came true not just because of the MPs but because it was never possible - cut yourself off from your largest trading partner and we see the results QED
There still seems to be a "they need us more than we need them" attitude in the UK. I try to explain to people that it's a lie and that most countries in the EU are well glad to see the back of Britain but the stupid morons don't believe me!

On the 1st Monday of every month at midday, they test the air raid warning sirens in my village for about 4 minutes. They are loud, disruptive and, in these days of Putin insanity, a stark reminder of how easily the Russian cockroaches could destroy western Europe
Let's hope they never have to sound them to warn us of incoming nuclear missiles!
There was an episode of NCIS that dealt with terrorists doing exactly that.
When I saw the episode I thought how unlikely it was that a country like the USA would permit a such a glaringly obvious hole like that in their security to persist - I underestimated the incompetence and greed of Republicans.
The moral of the story is that if you have Republicans running the show they are a danger to America. They only care about lining their own pockets, ass-licking the Russians and trying to control women's bodies - nothing too important impinges on their consciousness!
