Did Richard Sharp give instructions that the Beeb news website lead on a Johnson story that came out of the same drawer as his ‘Brussels bans salt and vinegar crisps’ type stories?

This sudden Putin revelation has all the hallmarks of a pre-emptive strike at a massive Boris Johnson book deal. File it under "fiction". https://twitter.com/campbellclaret/status/1619949872928497665

For anyone with a brain, the position should be that if Blojob says something, it's certain to be a bare-faced lie unless proven beyond any doubt to be true!
Due to the fact that Johnson is a renowned liar, I find his claim about Putin threatening to kill him with a missile hard to believe.
No one can back up the claim and I get the impression that Johnson is using it as another attempt to fuel his misguided self belief that he is a brave statesman, who is putting himself on the front line for the sake of the country.
Everything he says is said to try to benefit himself and the public's perception of him.

The world is facing a climate catastrophe but the commercial landlords want to ban something that mitigates that - bravo!
What a pile of 💩 Desperation of the office landlord methinks.
The public sector must ban working from home – or face collapse

Countless of people are having to flee because of the climate crisis. The time to act is now. We need to get informed, speak up on climate justice and migrant justice, and support vital organizations like IOM. The Greta Thunberg Foundation supports their important work with people displaced by the climate crisis in Pakistan & Somalia.
IOM is helping people to find a way to stay, adapt and move when there is no other option. You can also support IOM here: https://t.co/dCeTmVQryX

I'm a retired computer programmer (and before that I was a carpenter, joiner and cabinet maker). I agree, Unless I'm in a hurry, I often prefer to plane timber down with a jack plane rather than pushing it through the planer thicknesser. Most crosscuts I'll do with a sharp handsaw rather than using a pull-over crosscut power saw.
The problem Sunak has that it only looks like decisive action if you sack the bastard the moment the story sees the light of day - doing it days or weeks later makes you look weak - like you have been cornered and been forced to do something you didn't want to do. In this case I'm absolutely sure that is the truth!
Yeah, in most of northern Europe, buildings built of timber or mostly of timber were normally based on oak rather than softwood. Exceptions are wooden buildings in Scandinavia where softwood is the dominant material.
This used to be my local pub in the town where I was raised. Half timbered construction in oak. It dates back to - no one really knows for certain - the 15th century maybe - the pub itself proudly proclaims itself as dating from 1180 like the adjacent parish church of St Mary (which really does date from the 12th century)

Love the EU and all it stands for, moreover, I spent the last 10 years of my career working at an EU agency.

Slightly knowledgeable gardener.
Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
