Love the EU and all it stands for, moreover, I spent the last 10 years of my career working at an EU agency.
Enthusiastic photographer, especially wildlife and most especially butterflies.
Slightly knowledgeable gardener.
Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.

It’s clear #PrinceHarry believes he’s on a mission to say that the #tabloids must be held to some degree of accountability & that they should have a better relationship with the truth. You may disagree with how he’s going about it but the mission in itself seems honourable to me.

@markoftheD@twitter.com Cameron. Triggered the referendum, made it advisory against all advice to the contrary (making it impossible to overturn despite Leave breaking rules), ran a seriously lack-lustre campaign to Remain (possibly on purpose), then walked away from his mess, singing to himself.

Palm Oil in Vegan Food
...but vegan products are often packed full of this, and that's if they're not full of soy you can't trace the provenance of. By all means reduce your environmental impact through dietary changes, but I must say most of the pre-prepared vegan foods I've found do nothing of the sort, they merely replace one unsustainable form of diet with another, and they're the very antithesis of any kind of holistic, sustainable approach to diet. Palm oil is the clear indicator of this.
I am so impressed, I discovered how to set up dictation in French In Word 365. To my great delight, it understands my accent in French absolutely perfectly and produces quite impeccable French from my witterings!
I was already overwhelmingly impressed by its ability to interpret my witterings in English but to be able to do the same in French is extraordinary.
When I compare the abilities of the current version to those exhibited by previous versions; i.e. completely useless for all practical purposes, I am truly astounded at the progress that Microsoft have managed to make in this domain. It is now possible to dictate a full A4 page or more of text without the dictation system making a single mistake!

Remember this...The EU procurement process would have prevented the £7bn Tory PPE fraud and the £37bn "test and trace" failure. This profiteering, corruption and fraud was only possible because of Brexit. Does #brexit start to make sense now? 🤔

It is 50 years since Ireland joined the EU.
My own tiny anecdote on the gap between that country and the one we live in today.
The Irish state was told it couldn’t continue with its official policy of having different pay for men and women.
Eventually it advertised to recruit a Commissioner for Equal Pay, to oversee compliance.
The recruitment ad listed different pay scales for men and women.
