"Fascism first causes, then thrives on, the chaos for which it presents itself as sole cure." - William Gibson

It must be hilarious for the #RestOfTheWorld to watch a pompous, arrogant, big-headed, yester-year country like the
"U"K🇬🇧 make fart noises as it deflates like a balloon with a puncture.

IMO it has to deflate entirely before the holes can be patched and sensible, independent things can begin to grow in its place.

Right wing arseholes are getting their collective knickers in a twist about the number of refugees coming across the channel in small boats. However, the reality is that Britain takes an absolutely minuscule number of refugees compared to other more welcoming nations! Germany, for example, has opened its arms to 2,234,932

Anyway here are the figures:

Income precedes work for the same reason you eat breakfast before you go to work. Lack of income is preventing a great deal of valuable work from happening for the same reason students find it difficult to learn on empty stomachs.

UBI will fuel all work.

If the Tories hate being compared to the Nazis, they should maybe consider stopping the rhetoric and policies that the Nazis would have enthusiastically supported.

Nazi comparison advice, there.

The people voted for cheaper food, cheaper fuel, FOM in EU, lower taxes , more money for the NHS etc etc NONE of which came true not just because of the MPs but because it was never possible - cut yourself off from your largest trading partner and we see the results QED

#Brexit: EU suppliers wary about doing business in UK, warn manufacturers

Why would you trade with a country that has chosen to make trade much more difficult for you? Obvious now. Obvious in 2016.

theguardian.com/business/2023/

Scenario: A refugee enters the UK without papers {he had them, but were lost) and he’s denied asylum from war. His application is denied. He goes to America instead where he is accepted.

This is Sunak’s plan.

This actually happened in 1933. That man was Albert Einstein.

On the 1st Monday of every month at midday, they test the air raid warning sirens in my village for about 4 minutes. They are loud, disruptive and, in these days of Putin insanity, a stark reminder of how easily the Russian cockroaches could destroy western Europe

Let's hope they never have to sound them to warn us of incoming nuclear missiles!

I know Elon has been a total alt-right a-hole and everything, but I must admit that for me personally, being forced to move to mastodon has been a blessing in disguise for my mental health

So that would make it 9 years of disruption, half a trillion quid in lost earnings, 4 prime ministers and 22,000 lost NHS workers since John Redwood, the Oracle of Wokingham, promised us Brexit would be quick and easy.

Thanks, John. You're a treasure.

Just had an SMS purporting to be from metamask.io with whom I have never had any dealings, so far as I can recall.
Message is that they have detected an unusual signature request, whatever that is, so I assume it's a scam of some sort
Look out folks - it won't be just me they target!
