Ok folks if you are in the path of #hilary, the time to prepare is almost over. Leading bands are already hitting the desert floor. Last minute stuff, get it done now. The danger here is not so much wind, but water. #CalOES is already pre positioned swift water teams. The early bands, ahead of the main event are already hitting desert communities.

It will hit the coast relatively soon. Landfall expected tomorrow.

@Nadinabbott Take a deep breath, let it out, and then hunker down on high ground.

@Nadinabbott I rode out Issac in 2012 in Baton Rouge. Watched the flood waters reach the back steps of our rented house with my wife and six dogs. No where to go as all of the roads around the house were flooded. Next time, I will evacuate.

@Pjcoyle it’s impossible to evacuate SoCal. Going inland don’t work, plus it’s going to get hit worse than the coast. It’s a desert. Going north, it’s near imposible as well. It’s the roads and geography. We really don’t have the same geography. Santa Ana’s have same speed as expected winds. But we expect the flood to be historic.

@Nadinabbott I understand. I went to high school in Newhall and spent quite a bit of time in the Antelope Valley. That is not good country for hurricanes or tropical storms.
