I don’t know why I ever try to read near future technothrillers. I work in tech and often can’t stomach the exaggeration and hyperbole of the real industry, let alone when the absurdity is turned up to 1000 in fiction. They might as well be fantasy.

@Psyklone Ugu, yes. On the plus side, AI-based image upscalers are making the crime show trope of “ENHANCE!” a reality.

@timetoscience Ok, now that’s cool. Slowly but surely, we’ll get more and more accurate depictions of tech in media. That said, I’m curious to see how absurd the assumptions get in a few years from now
