Minnesota Bound, a TV show about the outdoors, had been running an rerun episode on TV featuring my winter photography and photo workshops. If you missed it on TV, you can watch it on their YouTube channel.
The segment starts at 11 minutes into the episode.
Columbo is not actually about murder.
It's about a blue collar Italian guy marveling at the unique wildness of rich folks - in their mansions, corporations, boardrooms, yachts, country clubs, private schools - and then throwing them in the clinker.
It's a class morality play.
The petition to remove #LGBT content from the uk curriculum now has 190,671 signatures, sigh. It only needed 100k to force a debate in parliament, so that will be scheduled by #Uk Gov.
The counter petition is rapidly gaining ground, being newer. It now has 33,030 signatures, but we need more!
Pls sign if uk, boost otherwise! 👇

Trump secretly colluded with Russia to become president: Bill Barr knew it, and helped cover it up. Putin and Barr’s corruption of the Justice Department and the FBI is the scandal of the century (so far) and must be exposed.
Our leucistic #sparrow, whom we've named Leuk, has been visiting us daily since October. We know the flock is going to leave soon. It will be interesting to see if he comes back next winter. This is the longest relationship I've ever had with a sparrow. #birdwatching
Saw on Birdsite someone talking about how people have "given up" on moving to Mastodon or Post.
For comparison I have 7x more followers on Twitter than Mastodon (85.8k vs 12k), yet the engagement is similar.
Here's the retweets / boosts for identical posts:
Viral political post
959 Twitter, 741 Mastodon
Non-viral niche law post
8 Twitter, 18 Mastodon
Boosts on here are what will make or break Mastodon. If people can find other interesting people and content, they will stay and the site will grow. If its too much of a chore, they won’t. Other sites reward lazier social media grazing, and they surface content designed to maximize engagement, which often = lies, hate, stuff that enrages rather than enlightens. Mastodon just surfaces what imembers boost.
There should be no such thing as a "traffic stop" for any reason not involving immediate danger to life or health. Someone is speeding? Take a picture and send them a ticket. Someone has a broken tail light? Take a picture and send them a fix-it ticket. Someone ran a red light? Take a picture and send them a ticket. Minor accident with no injuries? Let the insurance companies take care of it.
The idea that it's a good idea to let heavily armed paramilitaries handle these jobs is freaking stupid. None of those tasks require heavily armed assholes.
"There is no such thing as a “routine traffic stop.”
In Canada, I've been stopped by police lots of times. Been arrested lots of times. No big deal.
But I was NEVER so terrified for my life as when I was stopped in Nashville, TN about a week after I moved there.
It was a full on "ugly stop." Weapons out, pointed at me.
"Get out of the vehicle with your hands up!"
"On your knees!"
"I'm handcuffing you for your own protection."
And I'm not even obviously Black. 😢
The Atlantic and NYT and NPR are utterly failing America, as they focus on free speech for rich centrists—while neglecting free speech for average people.
The Founders didn’t put “wealthy people and their kids” into the First Amendment. Free speech “on campus” isn’t more important than oppressing kids and teachers in Florida.
DeSantis’s attack on American values and human rights should be front page news.
Our for-profit press is broken.
