This is a mess. Karen Grigsby Bates is…or I guess was, the Senior Correspondent for Code Switch on NPR and she did a lot to lift up black authors who are historically sidelined/unsupported within their genres.

She & many others at NPR were laid off today because in this country we can’t manage to give public media the financial support it needs. I mean even the UK’s conservative Tories can do that much.
