"I Think I Can Beat Her": Lindsey Graham Taking DNA Test To Challenge Elizabeth Warren
It's folly to think that everyone who disagrees with you is not only wrong, but evil. Let's agree where we can agree. Sometimes we need to get past the triggers and keywords to get deeper to what we agree with.
Uspol, Warren, dna
The report states that Warren could be just 1/1024th Native American. That's less native American than the average European American.
The Cherokee Nation issued a statement ending with "Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage."
Trump's real ability is somehow getting his opponents to do the dumbest things. They should be smarter than this.

NPR could only find companies in the American political left capitalizing on messaging political polarization, yet titles the article : "Blue And Red Companies: How CEO Activism Is Reshaping Workforce Politics" and writes about how both sides will do this. But both sides aren't. CW for length
From the article :
As more activist CEOs speak out, she says companies are competing for attention. "They come to us asking for language that is more provocative, almost controversial; they want these messages to travel farther," she says.
31% of employees surveyed feel more loyal to their leftists oligarchs, 23% feel less so after the leadership capitalizes on leftist political polarization and demonization of any who disagree.
Uspol, hate
Hate on left. Letter sent to female republican Vermont candidate.
"... My comrades will kill you and the Constitution. First we will rape you for days. You will scream and know that agonizing horror. No equal rights for Republicans. Socialism is here. Open season for Republican death..."

I prefer thoughtful discussions or blog posts over videos. Looking forward to seeing what this corner of the Internet looks like.
Educators may recognize the cumulative stressors that they face, but they don't always realize that their symptoms are a common reaction to working with traumatized children — and that these symptoms have a name, @KQED reports.

"Smart fridge are we out of milk?"
"I don't know, as a truly smart fridge I only know it was a terrible idea to allow me into your home. I'm not only an attack surface for hacking, i'm also designed to leak information about you to my parent company, while offering scant utility in the process and delaying the eventual progression into commodity scale pricing and the attendant low profit margin that they are afraid of"

#Breaking: President Trump will meet with pastor Andrew Brunson today at the White House. After two years of detention in Turkey on charges of spying and aiding terrorists, Brunson was freed yesterday by a Turkish court citing time served.
Atlantic article, uspol
@rnitsch
I think there is something to it. There are those setting the language, the apocalyptic visions, with new urgent prophecies around time and date of the end, declaring judgment and demanding repentance.
There's punishment and exclusion for heretics who don't fall in line, there's a lot of parallels.
It does feel like that religion is in a phase nobody expected....the Spanish Inquisition.
Wow! Great Atlantic article about a study showing the social media view of the clean cut political divide in the US is inaccurate. The majority have so much to agree on. CW for length of a few quotes from the article.
From the article :
On social media, the country seems to divide into two neat camps...Reality is nothing like this. As scholars Stephen Hawkins, Daniel Yudkin, Miriam Juan-Torres, and Tim Dixon argue... most Americans don’t fit into either of these camps. They also share more common ground than the daily fights on social media might suggest.
...
In a democracy, it is difficult to win fellow citizens over to your own side, or to build public support to remedy injustices that remain all too real, when you fundamentally misunderstand how they see the world.

@c25l@mastodon.sdf.org
Gotcha. I guess tensions are high and trolling is trending. I'm convinced people have more in common than we often see online... Like, whatever side of a political spectrum you're on, maybe don't hurt or vandalize yourself or burn down your car /building to then blame someone else?
If I came across as rude or oppositional, that wasn't my intention. I tend to think that if it's wrong when one side does it, it's wrong when the other side does it too. And vice versa. Seems to be a minority opinion with my neighbors and family who are dedicated to (opposite) political parties over all.

I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
