#intro

Hey, toot space! I'm @straycat, friendly Internet punk. I've lurked around here for a while, figured I'd break my self-imposed Internet hiatus. (Why a hiatus? That's for a later toot).

About me: tech, science, history enthusiast, programmer/occasionally sysadmin. Tolerant & inquisitive. Free citizen of the free cyberspace (but you won't hear me whining about free speech -- I mean "free" as in "free", not "Nazi").

Note: not a furry, despite the nickname (but a friend of furries).

@straycat

my current reading includes the Oxford Very Short Introduction: Cold War

btw, fwiw

@deejoe I don't think I've read it but Oxford's Very Short Introduction series is pretty good. I hope you'll like it! The Cold War is a super interesting period. I think we have *a lot* of stuff left to discover and understand.

@straycat

Thanks.

for sure we do.

I'm a cold war kid (latter half, more or less) & what I get from this, from Stone's Untold History, from Judt, from Snyder, from Culver & Hyde's bio of Henry A. Wallace, from ... so many other things is eye opening.

@Shamar

got it in hardcopy, so I'd have to do as much searching as you would
