@Adrenochrome @SteelFolk Some insects and other animals definitely gain pigments from their food, but there a lot of moths that have incredible fashion sense for elaborate textiles and fabrics, hahaha

@sciencebase I've got a book "Mauve" by S Goldfield - Perkin was 18, and working on Malaria, when he stumbled across it in his petri dish.
