Wonder whether The Clashing Buzzards would be a useful name for a Smashing Pumpkins tribute act?

Incidentally, what we call buzzards in the UK generally refers to species like this Common Buzzard, Buteo buteo. In the US, the term "hawk" is usually used for such species and "buzzard" is a more colloquial word in some places for the turkey vulture...

@sciencebase I've got it on right now. They're nowt like Deep Purple either.

@SteelFolk They are a little bit...but only in the way that a lot of early post-British-Blues-Explosion 70s stuff is...similar guitar sounds and riffs and solos, wailing vocals, minimalist drum kits, heavy bass.

@sciencebase I can hear 'Hush' and oddly much later with Tommy Bolin rather than Blackmore. No keyboards a bit unusual for then.

@SteelFolk Hush was from the 60s British-Blues-Explosion malarkey though, written 1967. Purple covered it in 68. We do a kinda Kula Shaker version without keys with my band ;-)

@sciencebase I realise I really meant 'Shades of.....' rather than 'Hush' alone. I've never heard 'Book of Taliesin' though. May have to think about it...

@SteelFolk Taliesyn is proto proggie nonsense...sounds awful, hahah

@sciencebase It is mind-numbingly bad. I offer only P Harum's 'Something Magic' as something worse.
