Having got a snippet of lyrical inspiration from my mate Simon, I've pulled together a new song and blogged about the meaning and the method. I also used an LLM to come up with a prompt to trigger a generative AI to produce the cover "art"
@sciencebase Do you play a pedal steel guitar?
@sciencebase Seems appropriate somehow. I was thinking about D Gilmore, not a ten gallon hat.
@SteelFolk Just for you...I used my MIDI keyboard and the pitch bend (as opposed to pitch blende) to simulate some slide guitar
Hope you like it. I may redo it tomorrow
@SteelFolk what did you think?
@sciencebase I was very quiet for me but it sounded great from what I could hear.
@SteelFolk I'll redo it and mix it properly, only had a couple of minutes
@sciencebase It sounds OK thru my cans. I think my laptop>>CD amp bluetooth is baggy.
@SteelFolk I had a go, but I think the mix is fine. I did use the pitch bend to create some 'seabird' sounds with the same slide guitar sound
@sciencebase remember Ahr Bob doing that in 'Sister Seagull'at some Be-Bop Delux gig, but his was shite.
@SteelFolk Adrian Belew is the man for animal sounds with guitar...
@SteelFolk asks, I get you... Slidey Floyd. I've got a steel slide I could stimulate pedal steel
