@neverfadingwood I know it has never been that cold since I moved here to Tel Aviv. It might get that cold up north, or in the high deserts like the Negev or the Judean desert, though.
@LWFlouisa @neverfadingwood It is someone else's issue if they are offended by an honest question. Ask away! :)

@LWFlouisa @neverfadingwood The Jewish people carry a number of looks, depending on where they're from in the world. They were moving out of the land of Judea and Canaan through all of the bronze age. Ashkenaziim (That is German Jews) moved north, while spanish and eastern (Sefardi and Misrahi) Jews moved south, and east. We got as far as China, live in India, and once we had vibrant populations throughout all of the Arab and African world.
Over time, of course, those things changed. Skin color isn't really that accurate of a genetic marker to tell where someone came from. Genetically, all Jews- regardless where they are now- can typically trace their genetic lines back to the Levant.
We are the descendants of the aboriginal, Canaanite people of this region.

@LWFlouisa Yeah, people's skin color tends to be more a function of where they live and the amount of sunlight they get, versus other genetic factors. It really isn't the best way to determine one's genetic heritage, although it is certainly a part of that.
