finally got down to the brass tacks of learning the syriac alphabet and it's a process but 1) it wasn't as hard as i feared and 2) syriac is less understandable than i'd hoped
i have syriac editions of the panchatantra, the alexander romance and syntipas from archive.org, and it is my hope to one day prepare jewish aramaic versions of these but: i need to actually learn syriac as its Own Thing and shore up my aramaic as i do
not sure that my version of syntipas or the panchatantra would be an exact one, might do my own selection of animal fables from those and the aesopic material in the rabbinic corpus
