New posting! This one riffs on a few talking points from my latest (not quite my last!) paper, namely the role of #preprints in accelerating research and providing a "director's cut" of papers, how NOT to do #PeerReview, and the importance of involving #undergraduates in frontline research.
I love the idea of a preprint as the 'directors cut'.
Maybe preprints are also the equivalent of touring new songs at live gigs, giving them space to evolve in response to audience feedback before committing them permanently to vinyl?
@TIR_scienceblog I read Reviewer 1’s report. While it's not totally unhinged/baseless, it’s clearly not helpful nor is it in the spirit of RC (as you say in the post).
