The ministry stated that this would make Belarus a hostage of the Kremlin and have disastrous effects on its future. It also asked the G7 countries and the European Union to caution the Belarusian government about the long-term consequences of nuclear weapons deployment and requested an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss Russia's decision.
