Starting from April, medicines such as Corvalol, Nimesil and Postinor can only be purchased with a prescription in Ukraine. Painkillers and antipyretics such as Analgin, Nimesil and its analogues will no longer be available without a prescription. Most cough syrups and pills will continue to be freely available, but codeine-containing medications and salbutamol-based medications will require a prescription. All hormonal drugs, including hormonal contraceptives and emergency contraceptive Postinor, will require a prescription. Most anti-allergic drugs remain freely available, but Suprastin in ampoules is available only by prescription. Blood pressure lowering drugs, diuretics, blood thinners and Corvalol and Valocordin drops will all require a prescription.
