On Day 482 of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there was another major aerial assault on the capital city. According to initial reports, the enemy utilized an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) armed with Shahed barrage munitions. This is only the second attack by Iranian drones on Kyiv since the beginning of the month and the first in the last 18 days.
The drones entered the city in waves, coming from different directions, and the air alert lasted for more than three hours. Our air defense forces and assets were able to detect and destroy nearly two dozen enemy targets in the airspace around Kyiv. We are grateful to the defenders of our skies for their outstanding work!
At this time, there is no information on casualties or damage. The operational summary is being updated and clarified. Stay tuned for more information. It is important to remember not to film the work of air defense, as this will help to protect our air defense soldiers and, in turn, save lives. - Serhiy Popko, Head of the KMVA.
