The defense of the Russians is weakening. The Armed Forces of Ukraine disrupted the logistics of the enemy and hampered the rapid movement of his troops at the front, - The Times.
There are now three likely scenarios:
▪️go east from Bakhmut and turn south towards Donetsk;
▪️move south from Ugledar to Mariupol;
▪️ go to Tokmak and Melitopol, isolate the Crimea and all the troops of the Russian Federation.
The latter option will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to reach Crimea with artillery and air attacks. And this will make the peninsula impossible for the presence of Russian military and civilians. This is a major advantage.
@Nazani I am not privy to that information
@Nazani @TheOldGuy there's always a chance! I find it's best not to underestimate them 🙏
@Nazani @TheOldGuy
We've provided #Ukraine with tons of equipment, but we don't have enough spare equipment to provide to them as much as they wish we could.
@GreenFire @TheOldGuy By reserves I meant units.
But, yeah, we gave them some systems we're phasing out & aren't producing much ammo for any more.
@Nazani @TheOldGuy
I expected that you meant personnel, but I didn't realize you were expecting those personnel to charge the Russian defensive lines without equipment and ammo.
Yes, we've held off on transitioning our economy into a total war footing in order to provide all of the equipment and ammunition that could allow the Ukrainians to rid their country of the invaders rapidly sadly.
I'm glad that #Ukraine is making good progress with the equipment and ammo we've been able to provide.
@GreenFire @TheOldGuy
I don't know what you're talking about. I'm talking about Ukraine's heavy brigades, which are just now being committed to the battlefield. This has been widely reported on, & thay have no shortage of tanks, munitions, etc.
@Nazani @TheOldGuy
Ok, I'm just not certain about whether the Ukrainian army is large enough to attack on two different fronts, but that would be great if they can.
It's unlikely they take the Bakhmut route. There's little of strategic interest there. The goal is severing the land bridge.
The likely Ukrainian plan is to push both of the southern spots until one is ready for a breakthrough, then use the reserves for the breakthrough. The key to a successful offensive is concentrating your forces while the enemy is divided. Pushing both (and Bakhmut) forces the Russians to divide their forces, but Ukraine wants to end up with one focus.
@TheOldGuy Any chance they could work on 2 options at once? I keep hearing about Ukrainians reserves.
