Ukraine has received French 5th generation Akeron MP anti-tank missile systems, which can hit targets at a distance of up to 5 kilometres, — State Border Guard Service, with reference to French MP of the French National Assembly, Lionel Royer-Perreaut.
These systems are one of the newest, having been in service with the French army since 2013. Previously, French aid packages did not include these weapons.
Tactical and technical characteristics:
🔘Missile weight: 15 kg;
🔘Caliber: 140 mm;
🔘Body length: 1,3 m;
🔘Range: from 150 to 4,000 meters;
🔘Impact capability: the missile can break through homogeneous armor up to 1,000 mm and a layer of concrete up to 2,000 mm.
The missile has two targeting modes — "fire and forget" or with the help of an optoelectronic targeting station.
In 2020, the development of a version for use on Eurocopter Tiger helicopters and MALE Eurodrone UAV began.
